The Military Order of the Purple Heart's Youth Programs are focused on fostering patriotism and good citizenship among America's youth.

Junior ROTC Programs

Military Order of the Purple Heart Department of Texas is proud to support our local communities, and if available will send a Purple Heart Recipient to present the award to your ROTC / JROTC underclassman during your annual awards ceremony.  High School, College, University or Trade Schools.

Please coordinate with your local Purple Heart chapter for representation and awards for your local programs. 

ROTC Leadership Award 

The Military Order of the Purple Heart Award recognizes demonstrated leadership ability in a cadet/midshipman enrolled in a JROTC program in a High School, College, University or Trade School.   This award consists of a medal pendant with ribbon, a separate ribbon bar and a folder with certificate.

Eligibility Requirements: Each cadet/midshipman must:


  •      Be an Underclassman (Seniors ARE NOT eligible);

  •      Have a positive attitude toward ROTC/JROTC and country;

  •      Hold a leadership position in the cadet corps;

  •      Be active in school and community affairs;

  •      Attain a grade of “B” or better in all subjects for the previous semester; and

  •      Not been a previous recipient of this award.


High School, College, University or Trade Schools, please coordinate with your local chapters to order your program award. Please plan ahead, and if not coordinated early, the chapter will not be able to support your request.

MOPH Chapters Instructions for ordering the Award

Chapters may order the award for specific schools by completing the annual request and having it into the Department Commander no later than Feb 15

Please Note: All requests from our patriot members on behalf of a school, will go through their local chapters and there will be no ordering by individual patriots at this time. There will be no requests after the Feb 15, 2020 order made to national.  Please order ample supply to support your chapters' schools.
